KEY CONCEPT

This Idea can be purchased for personal use only here

Connections to high-performing industry stars facilitate initial hiring but also create persistent, high-performance expectations long after the professional association has ceased. This enduring ‘reflected glory’ acts as a protective buffer for the star-connected individual, both positively and negatively. They are shielded from dismissal when they underperform, but benefit less than their non-connected peers when they achieve high performance.
