Duke University Fuqua School of Business

In its relatively short history, The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, has established itself as one of the leading business schools in the world. With talented faculty and renowned research centres, the school sits among top-ranked U.S. business schools.

The School was founded as part of Duke in 1970. Since then it has drawn faculty members from around the world with in-depth experience that cuts across all industries and functions. This depth and breadth of experience creates a rich environment for education and inquiry.

The faculty — ranked No.1 in the world for intellectual capital by Bloomberg Businessweek — are noted scholars in the academic and business world and regularly receive top honours for their research and professional service.

Fuqua's research centres are designed to bring leaders from the corporate, social and entrepreneurial sectors together with Fuqua students, faculty, and alumni, for the mutual benefit of all. By engaging directly with practitioners, the centres develop insights to fuel research as well as curricular and extra-curricular offerings that reflect current business challenges. By driving sustained engagement and dialog between Fuqua and the leaders who are writing the rules of business, centres enrich the learning experience and prepare students to succeed in the industry sector of their choice.

Four centres focus on a particular industry, while the other four focus on topics like leadership and innovation that cut across industries. Centres include:

  • Center for Energy, Development, and the Global Environment (EDGE)
  • Center for Financial Excellence (CFE)
  • Health Sector Management (HSM)
  • Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE)
  • Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI)
  • Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER)
  • The Fuqua/ Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics (COLE)
